Rustam Ibragimbekov to Be Honored on the Sea Breeze Walk of Fame

On April 22, 2025, a special ceremony will be held on the Sea Breeze Walk of Fame to unveil a star dedicated to the outstanding writer, playwright, director, and producer — Rustam Ibragimbekov. A People's Writer of Azerbaijan and an Honored Art Worker of both the Azerbaijan SSR and the Russian Federation, Ibragimbekov is a towering figure in Azerbaijani culture.
Rustam Ibragimbekov was a celebrated cultural icon, recipient of numerous prestigious international awards, and author of iconic works that have become part of world cinema history. His films have been honored at the Cannes, Berlin, and Venice film festivals. The film Burnt by the Sun won an Academy Award, while the legendary White Sun of the Desert remains a traditional part of pre-flight training for Russian cosmonauts.
The star will be unveiled by Ibragimbekov’s family, friends, and loved ones.
Sea Breeze Walk of Fame is the first and only Walk of Fame in Azerbaijan, dedicated to legendary figures in culture and the arts. It already features 26 stars honoring iconic individuals such as Muslim Magomayev, David Foster, Vagif Mustafazadeh, and many more. The collection continues to grow with internationally renowned names.
