Sea Breeze hosted the finish of the ninth annual Baku Marathon 2026, organized on the initiative of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation. This year, the marathon was held on the full 42 km distance for the first time, bringing together around 25,000 participants from Azerbaijan as well as the USA, Germany, the United Kingdom, China,Turkey, Russia, Kazakhstan, Georgia, and other countries.
The race started at the State Flag Square. From early morning, guests enjoyed warm-up sessions, yoga classes, and interactive activities, creating the atmosphere of a large-scale sports festival. Representatives of Sea Breeze also took part in the marathon, supporting the sporting initiative of the event.
The finish zone, award ceremony, and festive program were organized at the Sea Breeze resort city. Ahmed Alkanoglu (Turkey) won the men’s race, while Elena Tolstykh (Russia) became the winner among women. The medals were presented by Leyla Aliyeva, Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and founder of IDEA Public Union. The event was also attended by Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Director of the Heydar Aliyev Center Anar Alakbarov, as well as President of Agalarov Development Emin Agalarov.
As in previous years, the participants also included people with physical disabilities and participants with Down syndrome.
Throughout the day, guests enjoyed a musical program at Sea Breeze featuring DJ Came, Mehin Gumbatova, Dilara Kazimova, Edglis Hayle, and Merry Band.
