FIBA 3x3 Women’s Series International Stage and Media Basket Tournament to Take Place at Sea Breeze

From August 15 to 17, Sea Breeze will host a series of 3×3 basketball events held with the support of the Azerbaijan Basketball Federation and Dream Group. The tournaments will take place on the main stage of the resort city. Admission is free.

On August 15 and 16, Sea Breeze will host an international stage of the FIBA 3x3 Women’s Series, marking the final stage of the series to be held in Azerbaijan in 2026.

A total of 16 teams from around the world will compete in the tournament. Azerbaijan will be represented by the national team and Neftçi SOCAR. The participating teams will also include representatives from the Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Latvia, Czech Republic, Ukraine, Poland, Paraguay, Egypt, Benin and other countries.

Qualification and group-stage games will begin at 10:00 on August 15. On August 16, the quarterfinals, semifinals and final will take place from 16:00. Admission is free for spectators. The games will also be broadcast live on İdman TV and the FIBA 3x3 YouTube channel.

The basketball programme at Sea Breeze will continue on August 17 with the second season of Media Basket, a sports and media project bringing together basketball and representatives of Azerbaijan’s media industry.

Eight teams will take part in the tournament, featuring artists, actors, TV presenters, bloggers and other public figures. The games will be played in the 3×3 format under FIBA rules, with a total of 16 matches scheduled between 12:00 and 19:00.

Media Basket was founded by Azerbaijani blogger Ruslan Aslanov and aims to promote basketball in Azerbaijan and engage younger audiences in sport.

Hosting these tournaments at Sea Breeze further contributes to the development of the resort city as a venue for major sporting events that bring together professional sport and a broad audience.
