Sea Breeze Hotel Awarded International Green Key Certification
21 July ∙ 2026
As Sea Breeze celebrates its 20th anniversary, it continues to advance its commitment to sustainable development. One of the project's latest milestones is the achievement of the internationally recognized Green Key certification by Sea Breeze Hotel — one of the world's leading environmental responsibility and sustainable management standards for the tourism and hospitality industry. The certificate was personally received by Emin Agalarov, founder and owner of the Sea Breeze resort city.
Sea Breeze Hotel has become the first independent (non-chain) hotel in Azerbaijan to be awarded the Green Key certification. The certification is granted following an independent international assessment of compliance with the Green Key programme's established criteria. It confirms that the hotel meets rigorous international standards in environmental management, responsible use of natural resources, and the implementation of sustainable practices throughout its daily operations.
Sustainable development remains one of Sea Breeze's strategic priorities. The project continues to introduce energy-efficient solutions, including the use of solar energy, implement measures to reduce single-use plastics, expand pedestrian promenades and walking routes, and promote low-emission mobility across the resort through golf carts and electric scooters.
Special attention is also given to the development of green spaces. Today, more than 300 hectares of the resort have been landscaped, with over 11 million trees, shrubs, and other plants already planted. The continuous expansion of green areas contributes to biodiversity conservation, the creation of a healthier microclimate, and a more comfortable environment for both residents and visitors of the resort.
